The Dynamic Duo are now in a great home!
Chloe and Charlie were recently pulled out of Baldwin Park Shelter. They were brought in by their “owner” and we have no idea why. Chloe & Charlie are amazing! They are great with other dogs & cats. They are good in the house, good in the car and crate trained too! No food aggression, play well with others and show some signs of basic obedience.
Chloe is about a year old, at most. We think she is an American Bulldog.
Charlie is just over a year, a couple of months older than Chloe. We think he is a Chihuahua mix.
Both are fixed, vaccinated and chipped.
Chloe was labeled “rescue only” in the shelter because she was so frozen with fear. She would try to hide behind Charlie and would put up a struggle if they tried to separate them. She did not show any aggression but she would not budge from the kennel unless Charlie went first. Now they are settled in their foster home and they are running & playing with the other dogs without a care in the world.
Being that they were so dependent on each other and they obviously lived together in the past, we are hoping to adopt them together. It might be too stressful for Chloe to be without her Guardian.

Gurdie came to us because her original owner was having a hard time and was not able to provide the proper care for her. Gurdie had been passed to a friend of his while he was dealing with a difficult personal issue. Now Gurdie is with us. She is playful and very affectionate. Poor Omie has had a turbulent life. He was adopted from a rescue group to a woman and her fiance. They broke up, woman kept the dog but didn’t give him any time. He had some behavioral issues so she sent him to several “trainers” but things were still not going smoothly for her and Omie. I never met the woman or the dog, but from what I do know, there was probably a lot of emotional baggage from the woman that was transferring to the dog. Omie was sent to live with the woman’s mother who has a St. Bernard that Omie does not get along with. Omie is very tense and confused. The woman who adopted him as a puppy has now moved out of state and he is left with his adopted grandmother who has a very busy schedule and means well but does not have any time for Omnie. This poor dog needs somewhere to plant some roots! He is playful, great on a leash and desperate for some stability. Winston has a somewhat complicated rescue story. He was pulled from the shelter, somehow he injured both of his ACLs and required surgery, we don’t know if this happened after he was out of the shelter or before he entered the shelter. He then spent almost a year in boarding at a local vet’s office where his dog walker came by to walk him everyday. Yes, it’s a bit confusing but this is the information we have so far. The bottom line is Winston had a lot of people worried about him and nobody had the space to take him into their home. So our partners at GW Stables said that he could come there while we find a suitable foster for him. He is doing very well, adjusting quickly to the ranch life and we are easing him into a different environment cautiously. We don’t know much about Winston other than he loves all people and just wants to cuddle in your lap like a kitten. He seems to be very smart, taking direction quickly, not sure how he is with other dogs at this time. Coming out of boarding after so long, it could mean that he needs to rebuild his social skills.
He is not a barker. He is playful. Great in the car. As we learn more about him we will update his information.

Leo is about a year old. Tri-colored Chihuahua/Terrier mix and has a slight over-bite on the side of his mouth that gives him even more character.

She loves to go for car rides, walks great on a leash, is very polite when meeting other dogs and is gentle with small dogs. Her playmate is a teacup Chihuahua.
