Weezer is about a year old. He was originally adopted out of South LA Shelter as a very young pup. Unfortunately, the woman that had adopted him hit some hard times and had to move in with relatives that would not allow her to bring her dogs with her. Weezer is a clown, he has the ability to make you smile even when you are having a challenging day. I told him he should be a therapy dog! He is great with other dogs, cats, kids, everyone. He appears to be a Finnish Spitz/Chihuahua mix, that’s the only explanation for his fox looking face. He is great in the car, on the leash and sleeping in his crate. We are working on house training. He is neutered, micro-chipped, current on vaccines and in good health.

Gigi is approximately 4 years old. She is wonderful with people, dogs and cats. Great with kids. Walks perfectly on a leash, good in the car and is just a good girl. She lost her owner last November and nobody in the family was willing to take in Gizmo & Gigi. They were with an elderly woman and are low energy dogs. Gigi is spayed, current on vaccines, micro-chipped and in good health. We guess her to be a Shihtzu-Pekingnese mix.

Kahuna has been bounced around more than any dog should have to endure. He was purchased from a pet store just over 3 years ago, the guy loved him but they suffered some financial strain and moved to an apartment that was too small for Kahuna. He then was passed to a few people finally ending up with a nice guy that had a big heart but a small place. He found a potential home for Kahuna and we all thought it was a done deal. The people were advised on all of the potential issues and on how to introduce their dog to Kahuna. They lacked the experience they claimed and the dogs did not get off to a good start. None of the dogs were injured but they got scared and took Kahuna to their local shelter in Santa Cruz. We know that Kahuna was not given a fair chance and he is a great dog that has been setup to fail. He needs a very experienced owner, he needs some training and understanding and most of all he needs some stability. He is now with our group and he will only go to a home that is completely committed to giving him the structure and the guidance that he needs to thrive. He has been fine with small dogs and cats. He is house trained, neutered, vaccinated, chipped, great on the leash, great in the car and loves kids. He is pig-headed, he does not know how big he is, he is a big Baby Huey. Lucy, 18-24 months old, very sweet, GREAT with other dogs, fine with cats, needs an understanding home…she is desperate for love but she was on the street for most of her life so she is just now learning to walk on a leash. She is getting over the need to flee and is working on rebuilding her trust. She has NEVER shown any aggression, she just needs some patience and understanding.

Toby was on his way to the East Valley Shelter if someone didn’t take him asap. The people that had him were not willing to pay the pet deposit at their apartment and unfortunately, that meant that they were going to dump Toby at the shelter. Thankfully, they had enough sense to ask for help before they surrendered him and some rescuers cross posted his info with a desperate plea. He is now with us, being fostered at GW Stables and he is doing great. He is wonderful with people, dogs, cats, horses, you name it. He is approximately 10 months old as of May 2012, neutered, vaccinated and enjoying life.

Gigi is a shepherd mix. She is extremely loving with people. She is great with kids and a terrific guardian. She is not good with other dogs and cats.

Gigi’s mom is so devoted to her and will do whatever she can to ensure Gigi never ends up back in the shelter system. Gigi’s mom recently lost her home and her job leaving them no other option but to live in their car together. Gigi’s mom could go to a woman’s shelter but she will not give up on Gigi. She is determined to stick it out with her dog until she can find a better home for her. She originally pulled Gigi from a local shelter when she was under a year old. Now that Gigi is around 7 years old and is not good with other animals her mom knows that she is most likely going into the animal shelter and never coming out alive.

It’s so heart wrenching to see the love these two have for each other and to know that they love each other unconditionally.

Gigi is around 7 years old, healthy, spayed and we can get her current on her vaccines before she goes into a new home.

Bruno is a Chihuahua Jack Russell mix. He is a compact little dude. He is great with cats & dogs. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 6 lbs.

Bruno was found running in the streets of Los Angeles. He was dirty, scared, hungry and exhausted. Luckily a volunteer got him cornered so we could catch him. He has suffered some emotional trauma and is still working on getting over his fear of men and people touching his collar/neck area. He is healthy, very loving once he gets to know you and he is playful. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night.

He needs a home that is willing to be patient with him and help him rebuild his trust.
